Job description

What we have for you?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Business Controller to join a fast-growing company and team in Amsterdam. In order to support and continue this growth, they have to continuously optimise and improve their business support functions, such as Finance. The finance team provides reliable and timely management information that lays the foundation to drive business decisions.
In the role of Financial Controller you will act as a leader to the Finance Associate and report directly into the Managing Director Operations. You will have a diversity of internal stakeholders such as trading, procurement, middle office and the finance teams in other offices abroad as well as external stakeholders such as the auditors and regulators.

The environment is fast-paced, technology driven and the ability to problem solve is essential.
This position will suit an individual who is technology savvy and has experience with automation & implementations. To excel in this role, you will combine your financial expertise and analytical skills to add value without creating bureaucracy to the business. They are looking for someone who can bring expertise and at the same time has a critical, proactive, and hands-on approach.

Your tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of financial reporting for the multiple entities, including management- and annual reporting;
  • manage budgeting and financial forecasting;
  • initiate and rollout process improvements and automation;
  • make occasional bookings in our ERP system (Workday);
  • preparation of the annual reports of the different entities and liaising with the external auditors;
  • establishing and developing relations with a diversity of stakeholders on several levels.

Job requirements

What we look for?
  • University degree;
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in a similar role;
  • experience in reporting for multiple entities;
  • experience and/or affinity with trading would be considered a plus;
  • project management skills, hands on mentality and stakeholder management qualities;
  • ability to act and perform successfully in a fast-moving and high-pressured environment;
  • strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
