Functieomschrijving
We are looking for a Platform Engineer (Data & Infrastructure) responsible for building, operating, and scaling Linux-based and database-driven platforms.
In this role, you will focus on the full operational lifecycle of mission-critical platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, scalability, and automation in a complex and growing enterprise environment.
You will work at the intersection of Linux infrastructure, database systems, and platform engineering, contributing to highly available and resilient services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, monitor, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure and database services at enterprise scale;
- Ensure stability and performance of production systems (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL);
- Automation & IaC; develop and manage automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure configurations using IaC (e.g. Terraform, Ansible);
- Improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization;
- Design and operate highly available systems;
- Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies;
- Ensure performance and scalability of distributed systems and database platforms;
- Continuously improve reliability, observability, and resilience of platform services;
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support service delivery and system integrations.
Functie-eisen
Required knowledge and experience
- Solid experience with Linux administration in production environments
- Strong hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL
- Experience operating and maintaining distributed systems or large-scale infrastructure
- Strong understanding of performance tuning, reliability, and system troubleshooting
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools
- Experience in enterprise or mission-critical environments
- Familiarity with technologies such as Redis, Elasticsearch, or Kafka
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
- Experience with high-availability database clustering
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
Hybrid/remote working is possible, duration min. 12 months, with a rate between EUR 100-110 per hour, excl. VAT.
